Pedders Racing

Pedders Racing is the brain child of Pedders Bendigo Franchise Owner Grant Phillips, and was formed in early 2011 through a partnership of volunteers and Pedders Suspension in order to take the team from club level racing to national competition. With support from local, national and world-renowned brands, the team secured back-to-back Australian Manufacturers Championship Class E Championships in 2011 and 2012, also securing the honour of Best Presented Team in their debut season of national competition. Having shown strength on and off the track, Pedders Racing rose to the next level with the concept of Toyota’s 86 as the catalyst, introducing the hyped chassis to the Australian Manufacturers Championship scene – their #86 entry becoming the world’s first FIA homologated 86 (BRZ / FRS), this milestone being one of five world-first achievements of the Pedders 86, the crown being the world-first national production racing Class Championship in the vehicle’s debut season.

2014 was a year of development, before 2015 had the Class title secured by mid-point of the season, #86 went on to achieve the highest placed outright race finish of any Class D entry in the series’ 44 year history. The Pedders 86’s third season also saw the implementation of an Australian first active education program with Motorsports Training Australia (Wodonga TAFE) providing a student crew for every race event, along with seeing students prepare, develop, design, build, diagnose, repair and strategise on a genuine racing program at a national level. #86 had clearly become aware of the opportunity to teach, setting challenge after challenge during season 2016 in the newly named Australian Production Cars Series, the students bringing #86 home in second place in a national Class Championship and securing their dream careers through the program’s industry engagement.

Pedders Racing, now renowned by some of Australia’s most prominent team owners and motorsport employers as part of the most valued training partnership in Australian motor sport, began 2017 debuting the first American driver at the Bathurst 6 Hour and now hope to again campaign a full Australian Production Car Series’ season with students at the helm.
